Profile

Titles of Books
"The How Tos of GIft Baskets", Current to be published "For Kids 59.99 and Over". It is a feel good guide for finding happiness, fun, good health, joy, acceptance and freedom. There is life atfter 60!!! It is good to get older but is not necessary to get OLD!
About Me:
I have been in many businesses, and could easily wallpaper a wall with all my business cards...I spent fifteen years in the gift basket business...Wrote the first book, gave seminars and taught people to have respect for what is often considered a cottage industry. I have taught telephone sales, customer service and had a PR and Advertising firm for several years. I was also a professional astrologer in Phoenix, Arizona...authoring a syndicated column, wrote for the major newspaper, TV and radio shows....plus entertainer for many conventions etc. I had my fifteen minutes of fame.

You are never too old to get out there and make it all happen!

No, Carol, nothing exciting here. I am slugging through all the tedious little junk necessary to get three books on the market. Hopefully all three by September 2. (My birthday, also considered the last day of human existence according to ancient Olmec prophesies--which would figure)

Good luck with yours

Thanks, Carol. I have found my work tremendously rewarding, and also frustrating at how little attention is given to our youth today! But I keep taking my steps, and hope to get even more people involved!!! Thanks for reaching out! - Wendy

Carol, your profile is so interesting! I took astrology classes from Robin Ruffo from 1975 through '82 here in Phoenix, actually her astrology and metaphysical bookstore was in Old Town Scottsdale: The Cinnamon Tree. That may mean nothing to you. I'm so glad you dropped me a note and I could "meet you" through your profile. You new book sounds fantastic.
Namaste, Maggy

Hi Carol,

Well, it depends what topics you are trying to get to grips with.
If it's computer software related subjects, you might like to take a look at http://www.lynda,com
They have a wide range of video based classes on most of the popular software.
I hope that's helpful.

Hi Carol,
John Kremer? I don't know the name, butnow you've mentioned him, I'll look him up. ;-)
I first became involved with computers back in 1964, as a member of the British Institute of Management's Computer Research Group. Of course, in those days they were mainframes as big as a football pitch, and only large companies or the governments could afford them. ;-)
I qualified as a systems analyst and computer programmer, and was a pioneer of computer auditing.
Back in the mid-70's I was also one of the pioneers of hobby-home-computing. In those days we had to build our own, including upper and lower-case and numeric keypads.
At that time, I started the largest independent hobby computer club in the UK, and created a standard club constitution and operating guidelines, that I distributed to anyone who asked world-wide.
Many other clubs were started around the world using that constitution and operating guidelines.
As one of my business-portfolio, I also built a computer dealership and consulting business which lasted for over 20 years, before we disposed of it.
It has been very interesting to watch the rapid pace of progress over the last 30+ years. It has all been so fast, that unless you are dealing with it on a daily basis, you invariably get left behind.
Interestingly, of necessity I learned to program in over 20 different programming languages - hardly any of which are still in use today. Technological obsolescence is relentless, isn't it? and getting faster.

John
